WLCH/Boogurlarri History

Boogurlarri Community House has been a strength in the local community since opening in its present location back in 1986, a centre designed not only to be here to help but also a warm and friendly place to meet people and learn new skills.
The name "Boogurlarri" was drawn from the past by the then Steering Coordinator for the agency in November 1985 prior to securing the present building. "Boogurlarri" is an Aboriginal word meaning "to be happy" from the Wangkatha
Committee area (Kalgoorlie and surrounding Western Desert Country) and curiously has made its way to a place in Noongar country.
In August 2013 the Boogurlarri Community House became The William Langford Community House Inc.The William Langford Community house has been the subject of a complete renovation program over the past five years and is now well equipped to cater to the needs of our community for the next twenty five years!
